New alignment tokens in the spell code mean I've started on dividing up cleric spells into good and evil. Neutrals usually (so far) get all the spells at mediumish power levels.

Also, I've changed 'stun' so that instead of needing str and dex to both attack and defend from it, you now need strength to use it and both dex and con to defend from it.

Question concerning the alignment flags on cleric spells. Do you intend to divide up all (or the majority) of the spells, or just things like curse and bless? Also, does being evil mean you can't cast the good spells at all? My only concern is that this might weaken the class in general and make it even more difficult to play (not something I really think they need). If the flags just weaken/strengthen the spells, then super.

As a random aside since the thought just flittered into my head: If the alignment flags were to divide up the spells to good and evil and such, wouldn't it be silly to have it so evil clerics can't cast bless? Because technically bless is the blessing of the god that the cleric serves, so wouldn't the evil gods want to give blessings to their followers to help make them awesome as well? And if that's the case, wouldn't it ALWAYS be better to be evil? That way you get to cure and bless yourself while simultaneously casting detrimental spells on the enemy, while good aligns can't cast detrimental spells because those types of things are icky and don't fit with their beliefs?
Just random blather....

New Beguile animal / Control undead spells:
Charm Person has a charisma check (since always).
Beguile Animal has a milder charisma check but also an int check.
Control Undead will work on slightly higher level targets than the other two, and has a fairly light int check (the victim needs >3 int more than the caster to resist), but a slightly lower duration.

All three still get save versus spell and the potential for resist/immune/suscept charm.

Do you know how many deathloyal items that little tidbit might have saved me over the years.... *chuckles*

Incidentally, there's a trophy called "ALL-ROUNDER" out there. I'll leave you to figure out how to get it.

There's also a trophy called BLITZ, which is awarded automatically upon reaching avatar in under 101 hours. Doesn't apply to remorts though, cause it goes off your total played time.
Unfortunately this trophy can't be retroactively awarded to existing avs because there's no record of how many hours you'd clocked when you hit av. Sorry. Sad

it works like sneak, it's "used" when you type it. You don't have to wander into any DTs to get the %age up (that would be hilariously bad).

Now you tell me! I've already walked into a DT to test it out. The results were so-so thanks to this happening a few days ago:

-1 hp 424 m 1095 mv 544 470379 Gold 3
Kellison grabs your hair and drags you.
Approaching a fork in a Northern Road
This road is made of loose dirt, with a few plants poking through the soil. You
can plainly see a large assortment of footprints in the ground where travellers
make their way. The road comes to a fork in the North, and continues to the
South.
Exits: north south.

-1 hp 424 m 1091 mv 544 470379 Gold 3
You war 'Help! I am being attacked by Kellison!'
..Everything begins to fade to black.

You feel yourself rising upwards... as you look down you see your
lifeless mutilated body lying on the ground.
There is a bright light before you. You are drawn to it and
begin walking in its direction, but before you reach it you
are sucked back down to the living world of Arathnos!

1 hp 424 m 1091 mv 519 470379 Gold 3
Screams echo as the battles of the clans wage on.

26 hp 424 m 1113 mv 519 470379 Gold 3
You disappear into the void.

I'd have sympathy ... if it weren't for the fact that you've done the same thing to so many people (myself included Razz). So, in lieu of sympathy, I offer this:

ahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
